This game owes a lot to Aliens.

I’m looking at buying an old Mac Classic. Anyone have any tips on what I should look for?

Plasmon UDO library system for IBM OS/400

Like Afterburner was to Top Gun, this game rode Ripley’s coattails to arcades and later homes of Amiga (and other system) owners.

Hyper-real modern video-game this was not. Sweaty-stressful fun game, this was.

Unlikely candidate for a well loved game, but this was solid. Such a thrill once I’d built a small fleet and was trading goods around the globe.

Switchblades, pistols, giant ants, grenades, small desert town full of secrets and greasers running you off the road. Fun story, great retro (for the 80s) theme.

Basically a text-based game, albeit with some rudimentary (way before wolfenstein!) 3D town and dungeon travel.

Game as vintage action movie - this had it all.

North & South, 1989 InfogramesCommodore Amiga, Floppy Disk

One of the few games of the era to use actual game graphics on the cover. Hats off to Accolade for that. Otherwise… at least there’s buddy chewing bubbles in the dugout.

What Top Gun did for fighter pilot recruiting, this gem did for urban planners and megalomaniacs alike.

All about the animations. Loved the knight v knight. Or bishop carnage. Rook smash.

Mana-mania!

Addictive in the best way. Was the best bonus lasers or the magnet or others?

Epic C64 game. Exercised a lot of imagination to bring those pixels to life but it was fun!

In retrospect the tactics used in this game were silly. But lots of 2D aerial view blowing-stuff-up to enjoy!

Don’t know what to do with this.

For the record, yes. You can run ultimate doom on a 386 with 4mb of ram and onboard video. But you should not.

How far back can you go?

Jousting, catapults and Norman rogues! Left-click sword fights. This had it all.
