Good officers need to remove the bad ones from society by any means necessary at this point

The good cops get run out, killed on duty, or framed for something.
The problem is that it is systemic both in their policies and the laws they enforce. No good cop is going to fix the mess that is our law enforcement.
What we need is an agency with the power to hire and train the good cops and then simply replace entire departments with zero retention of personnel or policies. The trick, however, is keeping the rot out of that agency.

I once proposed having a federal standard for law enforcement that basically instituted a six-year academy requirement. You work your beat as a part-timer, and you're not allowed overtime, and you have to finish your six years of training, classes, and actually produce an academic paper relevant to law enforcement or the justice system that is peer-reviewed by both LEO's and academics.
No, I don't care if that means most of the basic-bitch cops wash out, that makes things better for the cops.

Still abuse of power, but clearly there was rain and the officer clearly mentioned the two reasons he was being pulled over. Driver definitely escalated it for no reason. Not defending the gross assault that later transpired in any way, but driver never should have even put himself in that position either. You can't just not comply because you don't like the reasons given to you for being pulled over.

The cops should not beat you up if you escalate the interaction for no reason. Maybe you're autistic. Maybe your dog died that morning. Maybe you got fired and are worried about paying rent. Let me be completely clear about this, it's the job of a cop to enforce the law with a calm demeanor. If you get mad because the suspect is getting mad, turn in your fucking badge. I've worked in customer service jobs from Subway to call center to boss. You stay level or you aren't a professional.
