As an AutoCAD draftsman since version 2.6 it really depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

AutoCAD Mechanical was pretty dope though and were a better and faster tool for 2D-focused projects in the early 2000s. From cnc-/flame-cut parts up to industrial plant layouts, it got the job done with a handful of command lines. Didn't even need a mouse... No, don't give me that look. No, YOU are old!

okay, Blender is awesome, but if you're using it as CAD, that's abuse (I know there's multiple CAD plugins for it)

Catia can sit right next to AutoCAD with it's Windows 2000 icons.
