I’m Eline from the indie studio Mipumi Games!

We recently released an indie game called The Flower Collectors (you play an ex-cop who uses a wheelchair, trying to solve a murder from his balcony with his binoculars and camera in Barcelona 1977).

We thought some of you might be into game development and I personally always enjoy seeing the process behind how games get made so we thought you might like to have a look behind the scenes of the development process.

This is the development from our main character Jorge over the years from an early sketch to a 3D model. He is an ex cop that now uses a wheelchair and is struggling to adjust to his new life as a civilian.

The second protagonist is Melinda, a young ambitious journalist. We also gave her some rebellious vibes, with the earrings and the worn-out parka, to support her characteristics.

Diego had some changes during the development. The first idea of the Police Inspector, a Lion, had a much smaller role in the game, and later on we wanted to have a more unimposing animal.

The idea of having an evil-looking bunny was one of the earliest character studies for the game. He got those spy movie villain features: a smart suit, compared with a “glass eye”.

The cabaret club, from early sketch to 3D model. We only view buildings from one perspective, so the other side is not as detailed!

Progress of the garage building, with the scooter repair shop.

Hope you liked that little look behind the scenes and if you have any questions just let me know in the comments!
