I have lost the game every day this year. Roughly 10 people I see regularly lose the game when they see me and some people simply greet me by saying I lost. I have fully accepted it as part of my life and made it a problem for the people around me
"The Game" is a completely misunderstood (or modified from its original form) thought experiment. You can't *make* someone lose the game in any meaningful way because when you try you've already lost it before you say or do anything - you're out of the game. It becomes just trolling and, as with all trolling, I'm simply going to ignore it.
Well I've become quite proficient at losing the game. I might be one of the best people at losing the game there is. Wonder if there are contests for it.
You don't get to dictate that I am playing your game just because you say I am. Fuck you, and Fuck your Game. This has been my stance since the day I first heard of it, and that will never change.
"Who cares?" is still my reaction. Like, whatever. If it makes you feel better about yourself that you "made" me "lose" some non-existent "game," then fine, you got me. I lost. 🙄
Somehow, my daughter and I connected The Game to the song Cotton-eye Joe. So now, if anyone says something like "where did that come from?" both she and I will say "where did it go ijustlostthegame."
Well...it does kinda make it seem like Rick Astley is dead. The meme definitely isn't. I actually got worried and had to look it up just now, and he's 59 and still around.
Am I the only one who doesn't get upset at "losing the game"? It's silly fun. It has absolutely no meaning. Why do people get so worked up about the idea of "losing the game" just because it includes the word "lose"? Quite apart from the fact that it is absolutely meaningless, even if it weren't, why is everyone so obsessed with winning that just the word "lose" is enough to trigger their frustration?
There was a D&D campaign at my high school table. We found an everlasting scroll with magic ink our wizard wrote, "All members at this table are exempt from the game."
They’re trying real hard to kill that. Really they oughta fire the…what is it, ceo, company president? Who is fighting this. He made it so much worse by making more people aware of blockers.
"Trying" is the key word here. They've failed to outsmart uBlock for years, it won't happen. Even YT's latest attempt just causes a page redirect to null their ad feed.
It took YouTube over a decade to realize users could disable or uninstall the app and just view the site in the mobile browser to page refresh ads away.

Gosh darnit - fooled again😔

People hate role qeue for marvel rivals but it would fix the 5 dipshits on my team who refuse to play anything but dps in a grandmaster lobby.

The whole point of The Game is to have bad design. Its purpose is not to entertain the player, but to frustrate them - or in other words, to troll.
adayofjoy
I accept my defeat.

Bamboozled again!

And yes, I know there's a rickroll here. I don't care.

My reaction anytime someone brings up "You just lost the Game":
SandyRiverDL
First time I encountered it, the person who brought it up got a blank look. Like, what game and when did I play it? And who cares?

The other nice thing is that Never Gonna Give You Up is a genuinely good song. Oh no, I got bamboozled. Now I get to hear a good song. Horrors.

War Games taught me: sometimes, the only way to win is not to play.
I refuse The Game.

I hate how well I made this pseudo rick roll but it's so niche I can never post it

If you get a chance, watch some youtube videos of him covering The Smiths. Excellent.

Can somebody explain this game for my friend who doesn't understand?
scanerang
When you think of the game, you announce to others around you "I lost the game".
Opinions differ, but secondly the game ends when the queen of Brittan announces the game has ended or when a player steals the hat of the pope
Badgerbadgerson3
That's why you never start playing it in the first place.

good for you all, but I just lost the game.

You are allowed to quit the game.

I read the rules, quitting is for quitters. And momma didn't raise no quitter.

I love when the rickroll tells you the rickroll is coming. And then the rickroll comes, and you watch through the entire thing. Because rickroll…

I like how YouTube has killed Rick rolling with ads, so it continues being concealed in gifs.
stygimoIoch
YouTube has ads? Who has this complaint? Even the shittiest browsers have a uBlock extension.
TheDudeanator
I use newpipe, but most YouTube links still open in the YouTube app.
stygimoIoch
That's why you disable or uninstall the app, my dude.
TheDudeanator
I can't uninstall the app, if I disable the YouTube app I can force links to open in newpipe?
