Chromies, snails, crabs, anemones. Nice and healthy tank.

Jacques and Nemo joined the club. Jacques was my absolute favorite. Watching him stare me down waiting for food. Made my day seeing him swim up to get food.

This one loved creating and recreating tunnels.

The buttery fish. Where the end started. Tank was stable for almost a year. Kept it healthy, checked my water parameters 2x a week and adjusted accordingly. In the end it didn’t matter. Within a few days of introducing the butterfly the tank started going. It was infected with Ick. After two days all the fish started acting off. Within two weeks they had all died.

All that’s left. A few survivors that I got out in time. I dosed the tank with meds, didn’t matter. Once Ick gets into a colony it’s harder than they say to resolve without heavy loss.

Oof. Had a similar, but MUCH less expensive lesson with gouramis in the mid 90s
When I started saltwater 10 years later, I somehow found this *amazing* 20 gallon acrylic tank that had a salt filter setup behind black plastic integral with the tank itself. I used it as a quarantine tank - anything I got had to stay in it for 6 weeks before transfer to my 75g...
