So 2020 sucked so much for so many people but all things considered, my family and I had a great year all things considered. So both my wife and I didn’t lose our jobs or reduce our income as a result of covid. No one in our immediate families contracted the virus. Those of our extended families that did contract the virus survived, thankfully. My wife is a teacher and had the ability to learn a new skill set of teaching 3rd graders remotely while also having the opportunity to stay home with our 2 sons. I am a homebuilder and was deemed essential so my doors remained open. We didn’t lay anyone off, in fact we have hired 4 new people since covid started. Our family is a very outdoorsy family. We boat, fish, camp, mountain bike, run, play tennis, and hunt a lot so covid didn’t impact those activities. We rarely eat out so not going to restaurants wasn’t a problem either. We shop at Costco and had a years worth of TP and paper towels well back in January so no worry there. I recognize how lucky we are and thank God everyday that we were this fortunate. Honestly, I hope 2021 goes as well as 2020 did for us. TLDR: Lucky dude is lucky.

I hate to admit it but 2020 was one of the best years I've had, & I lost my job too...

My income was unaffected (retired), and I was able to pay down debt because I didn't eat out or spend as much on gas. Spent 1/2 my stimulus/

at local businesses for things I wouldn't have bought otherwise.

My year was pretty good too. Got two raises, sold and bought a house, made a connection I've been hoping for for over 20 years.
