Waitinf for some dumb towers to be the focus of the next demolition.

You met me at a very strange time in my life

This kills the tower/stack/building.

The Sheraton was imploded recently. Ironically the town was relegated to the rear end of the donkey for filming. To say underwhelming video from the back of the building was an understatement.

Someone broke the doorknob to hell. It’s all making sense now!

I still remember when the Hudson's Department Store building was demolished in the late 90s in Detroit. They really hadn't estimated what would happen at ground level and all the people who had gathered nearby were running away screaming when the dust cloud came racing outwards into the streets.

Fred Dibnah made it look so easy.. Rest your soul brother!

I really thought the first was a giraffe for a sec there.

NO CRUMBS. ENGINEERS ATE 👁️ 👄 👁️ 💅

5 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

On the first one you can see a second round of blasts segmenting both of them while they are on the way down. I'm impressed by the wiring job that held out while the stacks were already falling!

6 hours ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There's a secret to that. The connectors that connect the wires are like fuses with a delay. The signal to detonate reaches all the connectors before any of the explosives detonate. These delays are small, like milliseconds, but that's enough to make sure nothing gets cut off prematurely.

I've got a similar clip but the flying rock clocks a dude in the head and the outpouring of blood is horrific. Not going to post it, obviously, but it's out there.

Destroyed the building and that guys trousers simultaneously

7 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Several people in that video "Yeah - I came within 1 foot of dying that day".

7 hours ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I’m not usually the conspiracy nut but these all look like inside jobs

8 hours ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

the way it falls seems to be suggest that explosives were planted at the base of the building.

4 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#1 IMGUR server crashing.

4 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anyone know the story behind the second to last one at the 57 second mark? That was a nice looking building. Why was it demolished?

7 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Forgot one

7 hours ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

But why would they destroy a money making machine like a Trump Casino? Why? Looks like fake news to me.

4 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The most beautiful demolition ever. Everybody said so. Nobody has ever seen such a perfect more deserving demolition in the US.

First water tower: Where did that thing on the end of the tower, the nipple of the tower, if you will, shoot off too? Fuckin broke the sound barrier

6 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have never seen this video WITHOUT the fart so I am curious where the original fart sound comes from

6 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's just a stock fart effect with some reverb added iirc

5 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Makes sense, the sound has been used in so many vids hard to tell

5 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I came to the comments to see if anyone added a fart sound, pleased to see that it was done.

5 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I am a 34 year old woman and I giggle like an idiot every time I see this. Farts are funny no matter your age or gender, imo.

Yeah, when I saw the version in OP's post I thought "Hey, we finally got the original audio for once!" 😄

7 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was rust rather than shit, and it was mostly air, so maybe it was a gassy rart?

In technical, official terms I mean.

7 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

the technicale term is farticles. I don't make the rules.

7 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

some of those buildings towards the end looked way too new and serviceable to be doing demo work on... Seems like a waste of resources, but I guess some property developer thinks a 1% higher return over the next 2 decades is worth blowing up a perfectly good (But not high-end luxury!) building.

8 hours ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 2

I almost think China and giving up on new/semi finished buildings as there's no buyers, but development changes could be a thing

7 hours ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It's such a huge waste of resources / energy. Not everything can be recycled. Those chinese ghost cities made of hobby foam concrete are a great example. Nothing useful will come from the rubble of those buildings. Nothing of value was created by building them or demolishing them. And yet, several dozen companies made an insane amount of money for zero human benefit.

And a bunch of construction workers stayed employed.

Seems like a wasteful way to allocate welfare to me.

7 hours ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I read a lot of the ghost city talk was actually just fear mongering and most examples now actually have lots of people living there. Basically it was just massive construction and forward planning of new towns etc

44 minutes ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"zero human benefit" & "a bunch of construction workers stayed employed" are mutually exclusive statements.

7 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Point is that they could’ve just given them their salary and asked not to work, and it would be better for everyone.

6 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Some of them might have construction flaws or foundation problems that are too expensive to maintain.

Vegas has one of the best demolition crews in the world. The land is so valuable on the strip they can implode a building back onto itself and start new super quick without harming any other casino. Lots of out with the "old" and in with the new there.

7 hours ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Pretty much ALL of the old has been outed in Vegas.

4 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Second to last one is the Sheraton in Mahwah, NJ, built on the site of an old Ford assembly plant. ("Well they closed down the Ford plant in Mahwah late last month" —Bruce Springsteen, "Johnny 99") Hotel closed in 2023, guess the pandemic knocked business travel in the head, and was torn down last month, May 2025.

7 hours ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

But torn down why?

7 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Likely it's cheaper to tear down and build something new that's suited to whatever purpose the site is put to, rather than to try to refit the existing building. And while you're trying to find another use for the building, it incurs costs just keeping it standing: keeping moisture and rodents and mold out, as well as keeping out vandals, thieves, and just plain curious folk who might get hurt and sue.

6 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The property was sold and warehouses are set to be built on the land instead. As a result the building, built in 1987, was demolished.

6 hours ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That makes sense. They are taking it from one investment to several investments that each have many streams of revenue. One building turned into two warehouses that can service 50 high revenue customers each, or a 1000-5000 smaller revenue customers each, would have a much higher potential.

5 hours ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I stay in that area yearly for NEAF. There was supposed to be a huge buisness development there, but instead it was this lonely oversized hotel in the middle of nowhere for decades.

5 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those warehouses are fairly recent.
