Interestingly jade comes in all sorts of colors. :) FE: green, red, purple, blue, white, and black. But I agree, my first thought is green.

As jadeite is almost always green it's understandable to call it green. Nephrite on the other hand can be almost anything.

Most monitors/phone screens can't actually display black very well. It's surprisingly hard to display a lack of color.
