Cat meme

Every. Single. Time.
"I'm as mad as hell and I'm not gonna take this anymore!" This speech always hits home especially during dark times such as these

This house was infested with a colony of brown recluses. Worst than I've ever seen. Cramped attic. About 10 glue traps full of brown recluses. 4 brown recluses I saw crawling around me. I notified customer. Hopefully no bites in my clothes on the way home

We lost the internet!

Found the issue with the network

Another FTTH subdivision done. It ain’t a 1728 but I’m proud of it.

FTTH ped. Someone broke multiple ringcut/midspan fibers. This is the shortest splice I’ve done and I think this is my best splice in this machine.I recommend securing the fibers in these trays that are continuing down the line. The fibers fall out easily

Repairing inactive fibers in an active patch panel including active 10G to 100G backbone links and verifying with OTDR. No outage and no customers affected. The patch panel was done by previous techs and no I didn’t route those jumpers.

CO/Headend splicing. My work vs it’s just a paycheck to them

I made some adjustments

I found it! The armor cut the fiber. Somehow the whole brown tube is good. A few in brown had a few bad bend radiuses on OTDR. Always be careful when prepping at entry point.

Although it’s about a 15 year old 2 ct OSP cable, these bends were 100% 10 dB attenuation. Causing node to intermittently go offline due to the light dropping below spec threshold.

Old copper farts have no respect for fiber. I’m getting more fibers to nodes for node segments. Here’s before and after pictures. Those bad bends are 5-10 dB loss.

Another Fiber to the Home build

Another Fiber To The Home neighborhood

New friend helping me run fiber. He flew in while I was labeling jumpers and documenting.

My first 12 splices vs now 48 splices. In a similar tray.

New 144 done but while we were working on it we got some preventative maintenance done on old active fibers. We’re not allowed to gaff. Here’s before and after of the hard to reach splice. Multiple spots unkinked. Water proofed.

My first splice full of ice repair. Old unknown splice. We just cut it and started over.

SC Ships Network 2020

Truck hit our pole next to CO/HE. 38 hour shift 23-25Dec2020. ~15k customers out. Fiber damaged: (2) 288s, 96, 64. 4 splice points.

I know a lot of y’all have dealt with worse trays but this is one of our worst trays in our plant. Documenting this was scary. I dread going to this splice point. Even the aerial tail was hideous. I made it pretty.

Holy hell

It’s not a 3456, but I’m proud of it. 108 spliced.

RJ45 568B I think this can be useful.

APC to UPC illustration. My OTDR shows this to be about 10 dB loss and -20 reflectance.

Please no.

Before and after. This bend radius was like this for years for a node. I guess the fiber splicer back then didn’t have glue or silicone to secure splice.

Thousands of customers coming through enclosure. Had to replace due to rust and damage.
