There are colleges based on sports like Alabama that have an entire course schedule set up for athletes that only has professors willing to push a pass for regardless of performance. Other schools will suspend athletes if they fall behind in academics. Really it depends on the school.
Hook up a battery to the metal spear tip to heat it up.
Every R tries to get some points by being the rational one on this issue or that. Then when it comes time to vote, they always fold. And vote party
The end goal should be to have people create art because they want to, not because they need it for the paycheck. I realize that is idealism and isn't possible in the current US, but forsaking progress because the current state of politics would make things difficult is how we got the dark ages.
Art is the same thing. People wanted to communicate with others so cave drawings happened. As paper and pigments became available, paintings improved. In the information era where you always have access to the video notes of great artists, art, realism, and creativity are at an all time high. AI pictures make that art available to those who can't afford it. Will that shift in revenue make it so we have fewer artists? Probably, just like we have fewer field workers per food volume.
Human existence is taking what was and attempting to make it better. Digging by hand was too slow and difficult so people started using sticks. Sticks weren't sharp enough so they improved it to stone, stone broke too easily so tools moved to metal. Metal cut and chaffed hands so grips were made.... Etc. Eventually we get to robots doing the labor for us.
But.... The world won't commit to that for the same reason US citizens won't match on the white house. Self interest and risk vs reward.
Nah, if the world as a whole isolated a country, even the US with it's wealth of natural resources, the economy of that country will be put on a collapse timer. Russia's economy is near breaking from global sanctions and those were fairly light. No trade or tourism into the US and the quality of life would drop far enough in 3 years to prompt significant civil unrest to the point of revolution.

You might want to read up. This only covers the past 10 years, but saying the US isn't directly responsible for its collapse is like saying an antivax parent isn't responsible for their kid dying from measles. But your response is pretty much as expected. Yet again, rather than providing and discussing evidence, you resort to insults, then complain about the downvotes your attitude brings you. I ask that you look inward on your discussion style and figure some things out about yourself.
Pretty sure once the FBI said there are no files Kirk said "well that's good enough for me. I trust them and you should too."
This is more constructive than arguing on the internet. This video is clearly demonstrating how fascist policies work. Walking through what most states deem as litter resulted in him getting assaulted, thrown to the ground and kicked repeatedly, and rather than doing anything to those committing the assault, the officers cuff him.
Trumps first admin was picking the worst people for the job. People with vested interest in destroying the section of government they were no head of. Betsy Davis, ajit paji, the people he put in the EPA, USPS all stood to gain significant money by removing their own department. Round 2 is just putting random trump fanboys in every position. Still not sure which is worse.
Or you believe in the US justice systems basis of innocent until proven guilty.
Gotta love the all the uncited examples you gave, but let's look at some. Venezuela's violence was pushed by the US to overthrow their socialist government. As stated, violence brought by a foreign entity teaches politicians to be fearful of crossing those foreign entities, not it's people. Same scenario in Iran. Syria was the same thing from Russia. Those are when it goes bad.I'm sure this will be followed up by a personal attack as seems the MO here rather than disputing the argument.
Ah yes because history has shown that the French are so much worse off for the political violence that happens there.
Nah, it's because one is an opinion and the other is a lie. Charlie WAS decisive. Can have that kind of misinformation spreading.
I can see that to a point. My issue is that historically right wing martyrdom is pretty ineffective as a rallying cry since devout Christians will think he has gone to a better place, and this was God's plan, whereas the rest of his fans have been taught that empathy has no place in this world anymore. I'm not accusing trump or his handlers of being smart but this seems like a dumb choice, even for them, as the fervor is bound to die out quickly.
Because he has shown the reason for her m to escalate is irrelevant. If he decides to do something, he will just do it. No checks or barricades are in place on him at the moment so there is no need to manufacture a reason when you can just make one up like the eating cats and dogs story. Enough of his base will believe him.
Most of the political violence in those "third world" countries are perpetrated by foreign governments, like the US. That makes politicians more prone to listen to those governments rather than their citizens. That is a very different situation, but for sure one to be mindful of.
I think you are correct for some, but there are many who are adamant about "protecting the children". They see abortion as murder and there is nothing worse in this world than murdering a child. Those people need to be shown how to reduce abortion rates and forced to come to terms with the knowledge that the party they are supporting is lying to them on the topic they care most about.
Right wing martyrs are historically unsuccessful, and I'd argue even more so now. Since this group already "declared war on empathy" it's hard for any death like this to hold attention for any more than a few days. He will quickly fade from public view.I'm not saying trump or his handlers are intelligent, but taking out Kirk instead of an enemy of trump would be more foolish than I suspect they are, and very out of tune with who he has been to this point.
They invaded DC over a teenager getting beat up by another teenager. That is less violence than what occurs every day in any major city. He doesn't need to manufacture a reason for this. This line of thought pays no attention to what he has already done and what the reasons were.
Much more likely they do the same as with Luigi. Find the "killer" a few states away in a week or so with the murder weapon and confession note in his pocket just chilling at a McDonald's that somehow has no one filming the arrest.
This is where I disagree with political correctness. It is politically correct to condemn violence, even if it's pointed at the other side.In reality, the world is better with his passing, and politicians used to listen better to the people when political violence and assassinations were more common.
Seems like a stretch since the youth vote has been trending right due to influences including his. Again why wouldn't he just target someone he doesn't like? Like momdani or aoc or anyone actually standing up to him? Would be the same level of distraction.
This. With this skilled of an assailant, they could have taken out any number of trumps enemies and had the same effect with the bonus of removing opposition. Kirk would be a foolish choice for this.
I hope the DNC is paying you for this take. If not, you are doing some free work for the propaganda arm of a group that likely wipes their nose with paper that would cost you a year salary.
Let them know that banning abortions increases abortion rates. Roe was overturned in 22. 23 was the highest rate in decades, and 24 was even higher. If they truly want abortion rates to go down, we can see what lowers those rates from other countries. Universal healthcare l, 1 year of maternity leave, comprehensive sex ed for young teens, free contraceptives for teens, and childcare assistance all reduce abortion rates by significant amounts.
Making stock buybacks legal really paved the way for that.
