I always assume that "purebred" type dogs such as pugs, any bulldogs, German shepherds, dachshunds, etc. were intentionally purchased by someone who wants a dog that looks like that, regardless of the health of the animal. Social media has decided they're worth tons of internet points, and an alarming majority of people do no research. I only believe those kinds of dogs are rescued if clearly stated.

Cats don't get it as bad as dogs, but its definitely been a problem for longer. Smush face cats have been around since approx the 1600s, where the problematic breeding of dogs started mid 1800s. Munchkin is just the first cat type that people at large have chosen to care about. What's weird is that people seem to care *more* about munchkin cats than any dog types. I still see French bulldogs and pugs on the front page with almost 100% positive comments all the time.

You've gotta get quality somewhere, and it certainly isn't in the copper

I posted my whole Ea-Nasir folder today and was kinda surprised by the lack of engagement. My demon core folder did really well. Maybe Ea-Nasir got played by Imgur being bad today and I should repost it after April Fools has passed.

You're both wrong and right. They are majorly destructive and should never be introduced somewhere. They also still don't belong in aquariums. I was referring specifically to things like koi ponds and backyard ponds

Because goldfish are some of the most abused and neglected animals there are. For some reason most people don't think fish have actual needs and be treated however they want. Even people who treat other animals really well will abuse fish. "This is how we kept them when I was a kid!" Yeah. It was wrong then too. People get then without doing any research into what they actually need. If they did, you'd never see that kind of goldfish outside of a pond.

This just makes me more sure that she isn't actually a redhead. I'm like 95% sure she's a brunette and it's just the light. Her hair can also look almost blonde in the right light.

There can be more that than one normal. I think of it more like side-effects to a common medication. It's normal to not experience side effects, but there's also a bunch of side effects you could have that are normal, but should maybe be addressed. There's also side effects that are severe and abnormal. Having kids and not feeling conflicted is normal. Having kids and feeling conflicted is normal, but maybe should be addressed. Having kids and becoming abusive/neglectful is severe and abnormal.

Love how I'm getting down voted for asking a question. At least I've only gotten kind responses so far. I'll never understand responding antagonistically to people genuinely seeking understanding.

Lol. Out of the binary frying pan, into the binary fire.

#12 genuine question: is it a thing to be both trans and non-binary? I thought trans was a "one side of the binary to the other" thing, while non-binary is what it says on the box. What would a non-binary person transition to?
Or is that the joke?

There's so much tree/plant debris alongside that plastic that I wonder if this is after a big storm hit the area.

Going off that big milk belly he's probably either still with mom whose off screen somewhere, or a bottle baby for whatever reason.

Snakes mouths and big cheeks move when they drink. That's a taxidermy/artificial snake with some sort of vacuum attached

I would think it's a material that's malleable until it goes through some sort of curing process. They probably all go through an oven after they're fully formed to set their shape

5 but fine point. Love me a skritchy scratchy pen that still deposits ink cleanly and consistently

Apparently it dates way back to the 1600s, comes from sailors (hence "rigging"), and "jury" could be based in Latin (adjutare- to aid), French (jour- a day, or ajurie- help/relief), could be referring to a jury-mast (temporary mast to replace a damaged mast while it is repaired), "jory-sail" in the Middle East (improvised sail). "Jerry-Built" probably does come from the British disparaging the Germans during WW1, and overtime they both added up to "Jerry-Rigged"

My 62 yr old mom is from Texas. It wasn't until a couple years ago that I unknowingly taught her a phrase to replace something like this. Apparently, the only term she'd ever known for makeshift reparing things (mostly cars) with spare junk you have on hand was "n*****-rigging". I taught her "MacGyvering". When she excitedly explained the significance of the new word I also told her about "jury-rigging". She really never has a reason to use the terms, but she was thrilled to have a replacement

And covid surprisingly. He was completely compliant with mask and vaccine mandates, even calling others out for it.

It wasn't until I met my now husband that my standards for how people treat me are *trash*. Everyone now and then when he gives me basic respect or care I have a moment of "wow I'm glad he's this good to me" and then immediately get hit with the fact that the bar is on the floor b
